Energy Performance of Buildings Regime

The Institute is in receipt of a letter signed jointly by Lord Marland of Odstock, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Department of Energy & Climate Change and Andrew Stunell, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Communities and Local Government in which they state;

"We are aware of concerns over the quality and consistency of EPC's and DEC's; the levels of compliance and enforcement of the requirements; and the poor take up of their recommendations by consumers.
We also seek your views on how a roll out of DEC's to commercial premises could be best achieved."

In order to represent your views accurately we would ask that you complete the survey and where possible provide comment and/or evidence that reflects your opinion of changes that would improve or strengthen the assessment processes.

The original letter allowed very little time for a full survey of the membership to be drafted, issued, collated and a report issued. Nevertheless we have decided that we will survey energy assessors, both members and non- members and provide these findings to the  Institute members who are our representatives at DECC and CLG committees.

This is your opportunity to make a difference

Thank you all in advance for taking the time to complete this survey - the first of its kind for all energy assessors.
